Workers Center

Workers Center

The CRC’s Workers Center is a place to look for work in a dignified and safe space. It is a response to the lack of protection for essential and low-income workers. Our Worker’s Center directly advocates on behalf of those most vulnerable to workplace exploitation, discrimination, wage theft, and hazardous working conditions.

Economic mobility can be difficult for low-income immigrants because of barriers such as:

  • Unfamiliarity with American professionalism customs
  • Resume styles differ by country
  • Limited spoken and written English
  • Lack of digital skills
  • Lack of access to technology
  • Lack of interview practice
  • Unawareness of how to highlight their skills
  • Undocumented or newly arrived status
  • Childcare

Our Workers Center Department knows how to target these problems to create an informed workforce who can advocate for themselves. All workers have the right to receive minimum wage, clear job descriptions, timely paychecks, and breaks. All workers deserve to work in an environment free of harassment, racism, prejudice, and exploitation.

Job Search Guidance

Finding employment can be difficult for low-income immigrants in any economy. Essential and seasonal workers are especially vulnerable because unethical workplaces can treat them as being dispensable and replaceable. We try to prepare our clients by demystifying the employment process and informing them on their rights.
