One of CRC’s primary goals is to help families in need attain the skills and self-confidence to secure more work opportunities and a living wage. The Construyendo Nuestro Futuro (Building Our Future) suite of programs is our comprehensive workforce development initiative. We aim to reduce barriers to initial and/or continuous employment opportunities and help individuals obtain work. This initiative works hand-in-hand with the goals of our on-site Worker Center. Additionally, we provide direct access to computer technology, enabling individuals to seek work opportunities online.

Adult ESL Classes
CRC is dedicated to improving the lives of immigrant adults by offering ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes tailored to different proficiency levels. These programs, ranging from beginner to advanced, provide crucial language skills that empower participants to communicate effectively in their daily lives, access better job opportunities, and engage more fully in their communities. By collaborating with institutions like Westchester Community College and Southern Westchester BOCES and local volunteers for conversation groups, CRC ensures a comprehensive and supportive learning environment. The availability of both online and in-person classes makes these opportunities accessible to a wider audience, fostering a more inclusive and connected community.
What are the ESOL Levels?
- Basic: Students will learn how to read, write, and speak in English.
- Intermediate: More emphasis on communication; students will improve vocabulary, reading, and writing.
- Advanced: Students will focus on grammar and enhancing daily conversation skills.
